That's some pretty nice piece of artowrk.
I have to say - characters rather move like stiff ones (in my country we're used to say 'running like with a stick in an a**' - completly functional here). But well, you have to start from something - right. My first characters were rather poorly made too...
Still, this is an excellent work. Maybe someone will be strongwilled enough to finish them :). Keep it up and good luck with it!

You see why I asked you to make non standing sprites?
well, even if this is an old stuff you still need to start making something less stiff, like gad said (stick in the a**).
Looking at tornado animation you can still see that stiff pose, only tornado effect makes it look good. Its like toy figure that can bend arms and legs.

edit: If you want to become realy good spriter, try making various things. Making one same pose wont make you good enough. Make same with many poses and that will be good enough.

i know that the are not the best animated.. that were my first chars i wanted to create...
and the main reason i wont finish them is because they have lack quality...
i am also working at the moment on a mod so i don't do always standing sprites :P

By stiff I ment that its torso almost never bends like this http://sketchtoy.com/62312858
and what bend is this http://sketchtoy.com/62312841

Thats mostly caused because you overusing copy paste function.

As you can see in this your animation. Its good enough, atleast its maching mod style. But To me it seems too simple. You still cannot make good animation because you lack of animation skills and skills in making pixel stuff. I can see this animation as http://sketchtoy.com/62312932
and it just lacks in between frames.

And for it, its not stiff. As I said good enough for that mod

well, when you are posting standing sprites and working almost secretly on a mod, we dont know how it looks like.

edit: and just because of this some people will start hating me

nah b these are some valid points. I do a lot of copy pasting of the torso as well, but i sometimes skew it a bit either with paint or by removing pixels diagonally on one side and adding them on the other to give some movement in the upper body. For legs usually I have to resprite them, arms sometimes re-used but sometimes re-drawn. As for head and hair, I use like the same sh*t all the time hahaha

@ JoHo
A Broptip:
All you're lacking is exactly what was JustMe all about... you're up to this tutorial: http://www.lf-empire.de/forum/showthread.php?tid=8004
ESPECIALLY THIS POST: http://www.lf-empire.de/forum/showthread...#pid152936
or you're up to nothing.
I just want you to read this badly madly carefully and understand the rules. Your sprites can reach high level, sicne you are drawing them really nice and detailed, but you still have to work over the shapes and poses.
The tutorial by JustMe is probably one of most needed on this phorums, sadly he doesn't come here often for now.
Once again - good luck and keep it up.
