I tested the PM-sending in IE8, and no problems popped up. In fact, I just tested it again. Still the same result.

Be sure to have your cache cleared. The browsers often just try to be lazy and load outdated stuff.

Also, on a side-note: please edit your signature -- no profanity.

in ie8, go to Tools > Internet Options, under Browsing History, click Delete...
a pop up box will appear, check all of the checkboxes there, and click Delete.
restart ie8, and see if the problem is still there
though if chrome works i wonder why you'd bother going back to ie
