Little Fighter 2 Lobby (beta)

That's probably a false positive. Chiko could give source code as evidence. But that's unnecessary.
BTW, if you use an online antivirus scanner, use VirusTotal.
Hiding users' signatures and avatars was the best decision ever.

Sorry, kieutuan, it looks like you have "few" viruses at your PC...

That's probably a false alarm... But Chiko, is it possible to infect the file at your server? Is the server secured?

Well I scanned my file and it's no virus.

Redownloaded from the chiko.homeip page and scanned, no virus.

So yea false alarm, probably you had this virus before and it infected the lf2 lobby

I am experiencing the same trouble as described above by Yinseko and blow_fly98.
I wanted to play with three players and did everything as decribed in Chikos OP. (Different Slot for each player and correct order etc.) I registered this .OCX file too as decribed in on of the posts in this topic (regsvr32 MSWINSCK.OCX).
Everyone was ready and we connected to eachother. While in character menu everything works fine, but when it comes to choose background or stage or difficulty the game always crashes/does nothing at all and we get this "out of synch" in the lobby titlebar.
The reason for that cannot be lag because it is very fast when we are choosing characters. And my ping to the server is around 78ms.
Of cause we tried to figure out what the reason for this is and we testet two-player-games. The other two could play normal without trouble, but if I join a game there is always this crash:
"There was an error, Program will terminate.
Wrong protocol or connection state for the request transaction or request
40006"
Furthermore I tried to figure put which port this LF2Lobby uses and I set it free. This did not lead to success too.
We checked our systems: One of the other two uses XP like I, the third one uses Vista, that is why that cannot be the reason for this crashes too.

Do you have any idea how I could fix this issue or what could be different with my PC? Should I just wait for the next update?

Well kieutuan, check the MD5 of your LF2Lobby.exe and see if it's the same as the original LF2Lobby.exe's MD5 (which happens to be 27A1226B0F87AB0DBAE8340D3460820D) and that happens to be different to your LF2Lobby.exe (whose MD5 is bc9009bdb8a664903b622463c38cc776).
Hence your LF2Lobby.exe is modified.
Hence this is a false alarm.

thanks all for providing support to keiutuan and sorry if the false alarm caused any harm kieutuan would be best to scan your system

impressive work with the md5 comparison i'll need to add that in the program to help protect from virus infection (well atleast notify you when it believes its infected)

i got worried reading this on the train as i was certain the file was clean before i packaged and uploaded the lobby

also van as for the server yes its rather secure a private service it is using apache but thats rather secure i'll update the site to also provide a md5 of any downloads i provide in the future (starting from the next time i update~)

please everyone take a huge note on this if you ever see "out of sync" in the lobby title you may aswell stop playing (it use to just disconnect but i kept it alive for testing purposes) Zelphir you may also be suffering from fragmented packets

this issue can effect anyone even with great internet i've just gotten home from work so will begin working on the update however it may take me a few days (only get about 3 hours a day to myself from now on so will need to spend it wisely)

i'll be testing with blow_fly assuming he still wants to be apart of this and when we make progress i'll notify via this message board and the lobby homepage

thanks again for your patience

Ok it seems the whole fragmented packet issues thing was not the cause for these problems can i ask that everyone who has this issue completely uninstall/remove LF2 and then re-download it from lf2.net

I tested a game with blow_fly98 after a few days of insanity i decided to try a normal game with blow_fly without the lobby upon reaching the "waiting for opponent" section lf2 notified me that our data did not match so i believe his data files had been corrupted i'm still waiting on him to reinstall so we can test again but so far that seems to be one of the main causes

Zelphir can you please re-install lf2 and ensure you are using the original lf2 v2.0a files?

I plan to add support to perform the same checks lf2 uses in detecting these problems but for now i can get back to updates ^_^
