Good tutorial, BUT:

Haven't we told you to please use punctuation! (,.!?)
I don't like your pillow-shading.
I know the highlight is more on the right side (on the bottom of the cape, his right), but the way you shade create a phenomena called "pillow-shading". Any decent spriters/artists should shiver by me mentioning that word. It's when you shade, and the light source is hard to distinguish. (a prime example is that sword, it's evenly and shaded on both sides, making it look a bit round.) As i learned, pillow-shading is EVIL. It won't look good. Now, you haven't used pillow-shading all the time, but some cases are pillow-shading as far as i can tell. and that is not good. I don't know if this JUS-style encourage pillow-shading, but i don't.

No, erh.

Pillow shading is pretty much the method you use gor shading.

Pillow shading is something like this:

So you can't really tell where the light comes from.

Pillow shading ~ light seems to come from the front, the highlights are always in the middle of a color.
Regular shading ~ define a light-source (for example top right corner) and do some realistic highlights.
