How do you use the burner tool in GIMP

when I click on the burner and try to use it doesnt do anything. If you use gimp or might know whats causing this please post it in this thread. Also My other tools aren't working. Please help!

Nvm... all u have to do is go to image, then mode, the RGB, sumtin like tht.

Sorry to say it but gimp has NO burner tool in my mind
i'm doing it like this
Translate it if you want
New Ebene>Ebenen modus>nachbelichten> pinsel auswählen> schwarz auswählen> drüberpinseln> set transparency at 50% or 80%
