Well, it does anyways, it doesn'T matter if you've a regular lf2 or a modified exe. The preloading stuff is pretty complicated, and it is almost impossible to change the way files are loaded. Also, by this method you don't encounter any things similar to Half-Life, where (when you go into a new part of the map) a small loading text-thingy appears, and you'll have to wait. You see, it also has its advantages, the gameplay won't be halted by loading.
