Future Server Move - MH-Razen - 12-14-2008
Hi guys,
there's a little problem I have to deal with.
LFE moves on a club-server of Sam-City Webhosting. This mean a higher performance and the downtime cause of ddos dont harm this website anymore.
The problem is the move itsself. Strato has to change the target of the domain and I don't know when exactly, only that they will do it this week. After the domain changed I need to upload the files to the new server and put in the database backup - and here's the problem: with every post you make the database of the forum change, and after the domain target changed I can't make backups of this forum anymore.
So there're two ways:
1. I make one or two backups a day to save as many posts as I can and let the forum run untill the move (with the risk that a few posts will be gone after the move)
2. I close the forum untill the move and no post will be lost
your choice...
btw: topsites are closed from now untill the move is done...

i'd vote for number 2 even though i'd prefer number 1. I doubt I'd need to state any reasons.

not long, I need to recognize that the changes are done and then I will change it, so in case I just sleep half a day, in other cases... one or two hours
