[CHARs/MOD] Trio Mortale

I played your mod with all chars and I just had to say :


ROFL !!!!!!!!!!

Man excellent work pal! My favourite char was Ijen the leg storm. I really like his moves where he kicks rapidly like a gun. Was that move call 32 nails ? Anyways excellent job. Rim is a really stylish char aswell.But still , no match for Ijen.

Ijen and Oni are my faves ^^ and Nemesis.

Yeah, 32 Nails is good, but it's stupid, if you miss enemys by a few pixels and waste all mp >.< Rim's Killing Hail is much more accurate XD


Btw, i'm planning to make one secret move for each char (kinda like ultimate owns). They can be done, by pressing DJA during a special move. And i won't tell you guys more then the name of the secret moves, you have to find them out, yourselves...

First off, I would like to give you my congratulations for completing this mod :D. It's really good.

However, I have a few questions:

1) Is your mod an LF2 patch?
Most mods have their own title screen, fonts, etc. Your mod seems more like a collection of new downloadable characters (not that they're bad or anything :D).

2) Why don't you create a stage mode, or a storyline?
Again going back to the character collection. You should consider doing stuff besides making new characters.

3) Why don't you change the face pictures?
In my honest opinion, seeing the same old face pictures on your new characters makes them seem less appealing. You should edit their facial features a little bit, to capture the eyes a bit more. They don't have to be big edits, make little edits at areas where the spritesheets' low quality pictures won't typically show (like the ears, nose shape, etc.). It's just like overusing a word or a phrase in an essay, and after all a picture is worth a thousand words, right? :D

Anyways, your mod seems really promising, and I hope that this is only a beta and you're going to work on it some more. You're far from done from this mod, and from the quality and direction it is going so far, it would be a shame to simply call it finished and drop the project :D

1. Doesn't a chaned Title Screen require Hex-Editing?

2. I thought about a stage-Mod, but i cannot put the new chars into it, as long, as i'm not able to write AI-Scripts for them (this is HEX, too?)...

3. I don'T think, that i will change the sprites much. It was work enough to recolour them, altering them would be maybe to hard for me...

But of coruse the mod is still not finished. I still have to add secret moves and balance it out ^^

well
i tried it and i think it was a disapointment
here's a list of bad things:
-bad installation, everything in different folders and many things to dl
-not edited exe, it's a mod right?
-badly sprites, the recolour isn't that good
-bad dc, too long waiting times for example the henry mod, strange moves
like the davis dragonpunch edit
-bad poses in moves like getting hurt when doing a move
-strange names

hopefully you can change some of those^
i'm sorry to tell you but this is the worst mod i've ever tried

Hi,
I'm just sitting in train back to Karlsruhe and had some time to test your Trio Mortale.
Readme so far is fine, installation was easy and could be done without any errors.

ONIMARU - The Samurai
-> D>A: Graphic Bug - the black stuff there should be quite easy to fix...
-> DJA: I dont care if you have less chance - instant kills are overpowered, this is a no-go!

AMAYA - The Dark Wizard
-> DvA: the enemy get stuck in fire... erm...
actually if a bot use this move vs you you'll probably get bored!
-> D^A: easy and cool move :)
-> D^J: instant kill, forget it, in teamplay in a hard stage one can protect the other and he
start this kill attack, it's overpowered...

RIM - The Melee Master
-> DvJ: Cool idea this magnet, but actually the DvJA should be the normal punch,
not another magnet in my opinion
-> Catch+J: forget it :p
-> on the whole, this is the best char so far, but instant kill moves are overpowered :(

AVIEN - The Elementarist
-> frozen wing move, not sure... attacking guys in sky only sound ... strange to me :p

KAMIL - The Ranger
-> D^A: rofl
-> D>J: slow and overpowered
-> DvJ: a bit long for a normal heal move

NIGHT - The Deamon Warrior
-> DJA: Overpowered
-> instant fall: hm... also overpowered in my opinion...

IJEN - The Leg Storm
-> DJA: overpowered

I stopped testing then cause I got to tired :p
but here's my conclusion: the concept of making moves longer and if they're succesful they do more
damage don't reeally convince me, since you need to wait for someaction during the gameplay and
I think most prefer not to wait and so much damage or instant kills are simply overpowered.
THe sprites so far are only edits, and so this is also no reaon to submit the project to LFE.
And somehow I didnt get why you called 10 chars a trio...

It's not bad, some centerx/y values are off and that's about it. Smooth installation and everything.

Kamil's D^A and Avien's DJA are so very awesome.

Some attacks are ridiculously slow though, Onimaru, Kamil and Ijen had quite a few of those.


Personal favourite out of all of this is Etox, planewalking is such a cool ability to have and this guy's moves are pretty damn creative. The DJA could do with some tweaks though, I would probably remove most of the moves from his etheral form and avoid him from getting trapped in it too, because there's nothing one can really do after that, which is quite lame. If he does moves like D>A he's actually hittable, is that intended?
D^A is kinda weird, but DvA is amazing, and in combination with DJA it's almost a tad cheap, but still really fun. D>J is cool too, however the straight shots are a bit lame. If it was able to do a bit more it'd be a great move too, I like the idea. Great character, you should definitely refine him a bit more, best concept I've seen in ages.

The trap guy is pretty cool too, but the trap system is kinda hard to use because it all depends on when you press the button.


Nemesis' Astral Prison, his Confusion and his Vengeance Armor are absolutely awesome. Black Ritual, equipping yourself with the stuff the Vengeance armor spawns and then doing confusion is a pretty cool combination seeing how you can then quickly escape it and let the bombs go off while everybody is literally confused for a moment. Second favourite character of this pack, very fun.

The last 3 were by far the best, kinda sad that MH stopped exactly before those three, haha, keep it up!

Onimaru:
-Yeah, it was my first "selfmade" sprite... and i still have problems with putting him on the right position... I alwazs miss it by some pixels XD But of which "black" are you talking, never noticed something like that >.<
-K, it's your oppinion, if you say, it's overpowered, but up to now (and Onimaru exists for abotu half'n'year) i never hit EVEN ONE opponent with it... wait, i hit Julian one time, but armor blocked the attack ARK

Amaya:
-Nah, he will still attack you ^^ I hope at least XD the move was kinda a funny occuring bug and i decided to make it to the main part of that attack ^^
-Thx
-It's not an instantkill... it deals 450 dmg XD But i already thought about reducing it... the cast time is nearly same as other long-ultimates, but the damage is way higher and affects everyone... will fix that ^^

Rim:
-He ALWAYS makes to magnetics, regardless whether you press a button or not. Or did i missunderstood that point?
-I have to admit, that Killing Hail is pretty evil kneevel... Simply try to strike a opponent, until he is stunned and EEEEEK... Maybe i will reduce the total damage from 700 to 400 XD

Avien:
-Avien is mostly teambased (ever tried the Melody in 1on1? Sucks...). Combine the Frozen Winds with moves like Rim's Heavens Fist or Kamils Lightning Arrow and you get an awesome combo...

Kamil:
-^^ Kinda useless, but surely funny looking attack... but wait until i finished his secret move... "Sky of 100 arrows"... and i hope, i will REALLY get it to 100 this time XD
-Jup, the attack is powerful, but only against far staying enemys. And it can be dodged easyly cuz of the arrows speed: It can neither "move" on the zaxis and you can row below it... (even jumping works with some chars, not to mention a simple counter with another piercing attack...)
-Thats the clue: You will heal as long as you want. IF you dont press a button, he will heal continuesly. You can restore all the dark-red hp, if you have the time ^^

Night:
-Only on close enemy... btu the attack lacks on hitting the zaxis... Even in Stage Mode it's useless: Either the enemys punch you or (if they hadn't targeted you) they will run away (mostly on this damn zaxis...) And a human player... yes... ^^
-Sry for THAT instant fall, but without it, he would be REALLY overpowered... Before i added the fall:70 he simply punched and regenerated all over the time, able to spam his hp-using attacks... The fall is not that much overpowered, at least on that way he deals way less damage then a full striking combo...

Ijen:
-Come on, that are 320 dmg... and he has to grap the enemy on a very close range XD AND it's my favourite Move XD

Etox-E can hit while D>A *thinking* GARGH... i guess i forget to delete the bdys after copying the move from Etox -.- Thx for the tip...

The trapping is kinda a bug... up to know, im not sure, why it occurs... And if i want to keep the transform-idea this bug won't be easyly removeable, sry...

Yeah, spamming the portals and hiding is funny...
But somewhen enemys will simply block them. They have practically no bdefend (intended)...

For the rayball: Ever tried to press up/down while doing the move ^^ It's called "Laser Barrage XD" (perform it on the lower level edge, while pressing up... will hit everything on the upper part of level...)


Yeah, i never made it to place the instantkilltrap... But if you REALLY invest time in that single move (and train it) he will be godlike unbeatable... Kinda a question of skill ^^

Um.... got a problem... Well, when I start LF2, and do vs mode and choose nemisis, well not actually choose him but just show his pic, it lags for awhile then it shows the Error report thing, I press Don't Send and yeah... any help?
